The world cup in a war pub: Another story out of Africa

It is not uncommon that ahead of most major international sport events - I mean a real global event where countries from all over the world, from every corner of the globe are represent - that sport writers and other gurus in motivational discourse engage in a prolific production of books and pamphlets that grease endless conversion  in chat rooms and blogs and pubs.

The FIFA World Cup in South Africa is an exceptional illustration of how far some writers are willing to go to fit the mold of what is expected of a "great commentary"out of Africa. Take the latest book in line by  Steve Bloomfield,  his first, Africa United in which he managed to tell another story of war-riddle-Africa with  a foot-ballistic lens! I guess that is what the American public and most western countries have come to expect from the so called "experts" on the continent. the story is not worth telling if it does not involved mining, misery, a lot of money for a few and death and misery for many! In sum the pages must bleeds and there we have a story out of Africa. There is an interesting review you may want to read and please come back with your comments.
